New Solution for pallet labeling

NOVEXX Solutions launches a reliable pallet identification solution that meets the requirements of common standards in pallet labeling.

Photo_XPU_NOVEXX_SolutionsEching, December 2017 – The new pallet labeling unit prints and applies A5 sized, GS1-compliant labels to pallets on two adjacent pallet sides without the need to turn the pallet. The XPU can be installed either on the left or right of the conveyor belt, as required. The compact and robust design means pallet labeler can also withstand the requirements of rough logistics environments.

The XPU is based on the proven ALX 926 Print & Apply system. The system offers convincing arguments thanks to near edge print head technology and, in particular, the top-quality and reliable printing of variable data in real time. “The XPU is highly flexible and reliable and can be integrated into any production line. It is the ideal addition to our product portfolio, which, with the XPU, covers all of the applications in supply chain management that involve labeling solutions,” said Manfred Borbe, Managing Director of Novexx Solutions GmbH.

The XPU pallet labeler also scores points with a range of other benefits:

GS1 Compliance
The XPU generates fully compliant pallets including the SSCC barcode – supporting traceability throughout the entire supply chain.

Maximum Reliability
Variable data is printed in real time and in high quality thanks to near edge print head technology. The suction pad on the applicator head holds the label in place and ensures that the label is applied without any wrinkles.

Improved Productivity
Up to 180 pallets per hour can be labeled on two adjacent sides at a single stop.

Highest Print Quality
The XPU delivers perfect print results on A5 labels at a resolution of 300 dpi. The pallet labels printed with the XPU also fully comply with the GS1 standard. Optionally, an integrated control scanner checks the readability of the barcodes during the labeling process.

High Usability
A door at the front of the housing facilitates quick and simple changeover of label rolls and thermal transfer ribbon to increase the machines uptime. The applicator arm and print and apply system are also easily accessible for straightforward and rapid maintenance.

“Moreover, the XPU is RFID compatible,” added Geert Jan Kolkhuis Tanke, Director of Product Management at NOVEXX Solutions. “A technology that is becoming increasingly important and significantly simplifies the handling of goods in times of industry 4.0. The pallet labeling unit can be easily integrated into our data management software TRACE-it to offer our customers a maximum added value.”
